Edit Aug. 30: We're looking into additional reports that this issue is continuing or reappearing for some, thanks for the additional info folks.

I saw X post, but it hasn't improved my environment at all.
The STEAM version freezes halfway through the boot screen and the software crashes.
My friend is also getting the same error.
I think this problem is continuing.
