Apex keep asking to turn on steam overlay

Apex Keep asking to turn on steam overlay. the problem is i already turn it on. already try turning off and on,restart,update still nothing

    i just right clicked on apex legends in steam. click properties and enabled steam overlay from there. the box wasnt checked. and that fixed it for me

@j0nnyisbeast the problem is that for whatever reason that's greyed out for me entirely
