Apex Legends crashes shortly after entering the lobby with no error message

Hello,

I have been experiencing random crashes in Apex Legends. The game often crashes shortly after I enter the lobby. There is no error message or error code; the game simply closes by itself.

The crash does not happen every time. Sometimes I can play normally, but even when I can finish a match, the game may crash when I return to the lobby without queuing for another match.

I also noticed that reinstalling Apex temporarily fixed the problem. After reinstalling, I was able to play normally for about a full day, but the crashes eventually came back.

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Verified the game files
  • Deleted the Apex cache
  • Completely reinstalled Apex Legends
  • Updated and changed my AMD GPU driver versions
  • Updated/changed the AMD Software version
  • Disabled the MSI Afterburner overlay
  • Added Apex Legends and Easy Anti-Cheat to the Windows Defender Firewall allowed list
  • Tried launching Apex through both Steam and the EA app
  • Checked Windows Event Viewer, but I could not find any useful crash information

The crash happens regardless of whether I launch the game through Steam or the EA app.

My PC specifications are:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • OS: Windows 11

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me identify what might be causing these crashes. Since there is no error message and the game sometimes works normally, it has been difficult to determine what is causing the problem.

Thank you.

  • Dude… same here I can’t figure it out. I’ve tried everything you tried and more… nothing. I think the latest update screwed something up with the anticheat system. And it won’t load properly. This has happened to me maybe 2-3 years ago? And I couldn’t play the game at all. I honestly just stopped playing for a year and logged back in and it worked.. I think I’m going to wait for a new update that would hopefully fix this issue. Everyone else I know is still playing the game just fine.

  • same bro, im encountering the same issue when i try to play unranked, it works sometimes but when i try to change gamemodes, apex legends just crashes. It became worse just an hour ago, i tried to start it up again but i cant even get to the lobby screen because it crashes before i get to it.

  • same, initially I thought this might be because of the last Microsoft update kb5121003 because they admit it may crash other games (riders, final etc). but I deleted it, stopped Microsoft updates and updated every driver, reinstalled apex and I still get crashes. it's completely freezes my laptop, I had to hard reset every time. glad I'm not the only one but it's weird

EA needs to provide the fix, as the issue isn’t on our side. Even if you try playing Fortnite, you’ll run into the same problem. It appears to be related to their anti cheat software conflicting with something on our CPUs. If you look through the comments from others experiencing this issue as wll,  there’s a clear pattern Lenovo with the AMD Radeon and AMD Ryzen. I have the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8.  For me personally it started on Fortnite and when I went to play apex it started there as well. I can play another other game without issues, like COD Beta, Arc raiders etc etc. I hope they come with an update asap.
