Apex Legends enters windowed mode when alt tabbing/pressing the windows key

Whenever I play Apex in fullscreen mode and alt tab, most times (90%+) the game automatically switches to windowed mode. This was okay in the beginning since I thought it was going to get patched, but after months of this, just going to Discord or Spotify triggers a deep cringe.

Some info:

I'm running a 1440p monitor, so I have to scale down, and thus I use 1920x1200p (stretched 16:10). This issue first occured at the beginning of season 21, some time after switching to this resolution. Playing on Steam. Windows 11. Specs are the RTX 3060, R5 5600, Kingston KC3000, 16gb 3200mHz etc. I don't think specs has anything to do with this though as the last upgrade was before the issue occured.

Replicate:

1. Launch game

2. Press the windows key, alt tab, anything to exit the game to the desktop

3. To get fullscreen again; alt+enter -> go to settings and out again (if nothing changes, go to the video tab where it will prompt you to save settings, respectfully discard as to not bring back 1400p)

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the same result

Some things I've tried:

1. Changing "Scaling Mode" from "Aspect Ratio" to "Full Screen"

2. Disabling background apps, such as OBS and Rivatuner, both separately and simultaneously

3. Verifying game files through Steam and even reinstalling the game

4. Updating Windows and drivers

5. Nothing else comes to mind at this moment

I've asked others about this bug, and a few had it during the beginning of s21, but now I seem to be the only one.
