Apex Legends "Error Reading Pak File: Short Read"

Hello. I have just recently switched from using Origin to using steam for Apex Legends. I was sad to find out that the game crashes and I receive the error message below. The game ran perfectly fine...

Something similar is happening to me except with a different file. Its a legendary octane skin. I believe that short read means that the file isn't the size it should be. Uninstalling or verifying the integrity of the game files won't work
