Forum Discussion
This is another attempt to get a response from someone on the Apex team to recognize the issue I have been reporting for the past 6 days, about frame rate drops when using an XB1 Controller and Mouse + shortcuts, in conjunction with a mapping software (Xpadder).
I have a controller input to keyboard output mapping program running and the game STILL picks up the Xbox Controller. This is causing stuttering and flickering, dropping the frames DRASTICALLY!
A "Disable Controller Input" function would resolve this. I am also attaching an image of the function that was implemented on "Fortnite" that completely resolved this issue in their free-to-play Battle Royale. I also attached a video of the issue occurring.
Sorry, my buddy's audio is a bit loud. Stuttering and frame rate drop can be seen when aiming down sights and moving the crosshairs. (For my setup, I am using LT on the XB1 controller to aim down sights, and the mouse to move the crosshairs). You can also see the switch from XB1 to PC and back. I currently have a mapping software running while this is happening, so the XB1 controller should not even be recognized, but is.

Thanks for the help! I appreciate your response. It was very insightful and helpful for my issue. I'm sure all the other people who have disabilities and need mapping software to run to enjoy games will really be able to use this to help them enjoy the game! Thanks gamer =D

The developer isn’t active on these forums. There are people who work for EA that are here as a medium. So you’ll be making many more posts trying to get a reply from Respawn.

+1! This is really important. It's great that Apex Legends has such good controller options, but Ignore Gamepad Input is a very simple option that is a necessary ingredient to meeting everyone's needs.
This has implications both for accessibility and for players using tools for a better controller-only experience.

I agree. There needs to be an option to disable controller support or at least make it so that the game doesn’t have terrible stuttering when using both. You’d think ADA advocates would have make this a requirement in all games.
