this is a bug related to the software running on the CPU and not the actual setup. (Illegal Instruction errors are CPU dependent but are also cause by software errors, in other words the problem is not with YOUR hardware but the instruction set in which your hardware is being asked to compile)
The devs have overlooked something and that is why you/we are here and so the so called "fixes" below are futile.
The game as usual has not been tested as it should have been tested before release so anyone who downloads it today is actually a BETA tester for free, there is no such thing as "Free" btw. So don't bother with setup advice as it's not what's throwing this error and if your system is running fine then DO NOT update or change anything to get this game to run. This is a DEV side error and they know it.

@bt119be If you're having he "illegal instruction" error please report it to Easy Anti-cheat.

A reminder for folks on 10 and 20 series Nvidia cards, rolling back from 418.81 can help. Of course this won't catch every issue, but it has been helpful for a lot of people.- 7 years agoThat is not a real fix for anything, this issue stems from the game itself. We shouldn't have to spend hours tweaking our otherwise perfectly fine setup just to play one game without crashing. Please acknowledge that this is a real issue and start working on a non-snake oil fix.
- 7 years agoIt would be much faster if the game wasn't free to play. They want and need to keep paying customers happy.

Every fix mentioned has no bearing on if the game will run or not. It’s conpletely random. I can run 5 games on Max settings fine and then crash. Move to low settings and crash. Try every fix listed on the internet and get 2-3 games out and then crash. Use 4 different graphics drivers on clean installs and get a few games and crash. I think at this point I would just have to build a new PC... and even that may not work because guys with better components than I have get the same crash.
Pretty much a fresh fresh install of windows with only Origin and Apex installed MAY work.

What is your pc setup?

Exactly. Other games like BF5, Fortnite, Tomb Raider and what ever other game is running fine without crashes on high or ultra settings..
imagine if Shroud or Ninja or any other streamer get this errors.. well you are lucky that this is not the point atm
- 7 years agoyou guys still tryharding fix that? XDDDDDDD I just stop play that broken game and i am wiating them to fix it otherways its not playable

Thing is, I played soon enough in the first week of release, and I had absolutely noooo crashes problem. Game was running on 90-100FPS constantly with my rig i5 6600, gtx1060
Sometimes i had some lags at the beginning, before jumping as the map was loading, but it never lead to crashes.
So idk what happend, idk if the supposed updates you guys made, messed up everything, but right now it's so random that i can't even say if i'm gonna have a crash while jumping, or off scoping
They really need to adress it, cause first they try to make us feel it's our components being too old or bad, when actually crashes are experienced by high end pc as much as cheap or middle ground ones, second, there was almost no problems (crashing ones) at the release, at least I can tell
