Exclusive Fullscreen Issue (Apex legends wont go into true fullscreen)

I was able to fix my issue:

At first doing the right click r5apex -> properties -> compatibility -> check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" proved as a temporary fix. 

However, it turns out Discord was the problem. I just had to quit discord from the taskbar tray and Apex stopped minimizing if in full screen.

Things to note: I have the -fullscreen in the game launch options and I checked the disable fullscreen optimizations. I'm also running Apex in a ratio lower than my native resolution which is 1920x1200, a 16:10 ratio, and my native resolution is 2560x1600.

So try closing Discord, it might help.
