@MatrixShaman The game freezing may relate to another issue involving DX12 and/or the loss of FPS players have been having since the last update, (which also may be related to DX12, but I'm not sure).
[PC Only] As for your main issue, you could try moving the following folder to your desktop:
- C:\Users\<Your User>\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex
This folder contains things such as your game's settings, (and even your keybinds if you had changed them). Although, (at least in mine), there are other files there as well, so once you move this folder to your desktop, I would then repair the game's files again to restore any "missing" file there may be, (and that should also regenerate the game settings file as well).
Note: There shouldn't be any file that fails to validate, as that file could be the problem you're having. You may also need to repair your system's files, which how to do is detailed below:
Repairing your system's files:
- Type, "DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" (without the quotes), and wait for it to finish.
Note: DISM stands for "Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool". It often repairs Microsoft related files, such as issues with Window apps. Some problems with the next file checker can only be fixed after running this one first.
- Now type, "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes), and wait for it to finish.
Note: sfc stands for "System File Checker". This one will repair system files, (such as important Windows drivers).
- Lastly, restart your PC.
If you still wish to contact EA Support, you can try this instead.
