why i can't play 4:3 on full screen, does +mat_letterbox_aspect_goal 1.33 +mat_letterbox_aspect_threshold 1.33 not work any more?

I'm begging you guys please fix it... I want to play apex. I cant play apex on 16:9 my fps drops too much.
Did they mess it up after the update? i can no longer play on 4:3 stretched...
