I got Reset from Apex Predator to rookie 1 and the split has not ended yet

I haven’t played the game in a few days and decided to check what rank I was at, and to my surprise it says that I am rookie 1? I was just pred how did I get reset to rookie 1? The split has not even ended yet and I’m not sure what has happened?
