Intel 12th/13th Gen FPS Drop in Apex BIOS Fix Risks Security

Hi everyone

Many players with Intel 12th or 13th generation CPUs are seeing huge FPS drops in Apex. I used to run 220 to 240 FPS, now it is 60 to 70 FPS with stutters. Apex is the only game affected. Other games run fine. I even replaced my motherboard after bricking the old one, and the problem persists.

The only thing that seems to restore performance is downgrading the BIOS to a version before the microcode update. That is not a real fix. It removes security patches, exposes the system to vulnerabilities, and could brick your motherboard. No one should have to risk security or hardware just to play Apex. Buying a new PC is also not a solution.

Other players report the same issue on Reddit and Steam forums

Respawn needs to respond. There has been no guidance, no acknowledgment, and no optimization for affected CPUs. Downgrading BIOS or buying new hardware should not be the only ways to play Apex.

If you are affected, please comment your CPU, motherboard and BIOS, FPS before versus after, and any attempted fixes. Upvotes may help this get noticed by the developers.
