Solved

Micro-stutter every 3 seconds throughout the last season, and this season

Every 3-10 seconds the whole game freezes for up to a full second — video, audio, input, everything.
Each hitch ruins my turning, ziplines and, most of all, shooting.
It’s gotten so bad it’s giving my brain a “stutter rhythm” even after I quit.
I’m on the OCE servers (ping is already higher than it should be) and switching data centres doesn’t help.
No other game does this. Windows, drivers and firmware are fully up to date.

Anyone else seeing this or found a fix? Much appreciated.

Fix for stuttering on desktop/laptop after 24/07/2025 update

If your laptop or desktop use realtek lan drivers from manufacturer or you have newer one you will get micro stutter after 3-4 minutes in game. This is caused by EAC scanning realtek lan driver and causing high cpu usage. Everytime you get a stutter you can observe event viewer spammed with errors: event id 2 (rt26cx21 cannot be found). Reinstalling driver doesnt not help. Only solution is to remove realtek lan drivers and let windows install generic ones and your stutter will be gone.

  • I have the same Issue and was trying to fix it for 6 hours straight. Tried every methon. The one thing I found on this forum is that one man solved his issues by turning off wifi(I cant play without it, so Its not workin for me). So try turning off ur wifi on motherboard if u can, it may help.😥

Thanks a lot. Just disable or uninstall the 'Realtek xxxx Controller' device with the driver. I use WiFi.

You sir have saved me so much headache. I spent nearly a month trying to figure this out and you explained it in a couple sentences. After going through RAM tests, countless Youtube videos, and hundreds of verifying the files, I can finally play Apex Legends without it stuttering and dying on me. I have shed tears of joy once I was able to play one match of Apex and placed 8th on the leaderboard. You sir have my undying respect and I shall name my third unborn child under your gracefulness.

    Thank you and good day.
