Your progress is stored at the EA account level, so if you're returning to find your account is brand new, that typically means you may be logging into the wrong account. Are there any other EA accounts you may have used in the past? Which platform do you typically play on, and roughly when did you last play?

Keep in mind unlinking a platform from your EA account can also result in a loss of progress, so if you've unlinked a platform you play on to link it to a different EA account, that could also cause what you're running into here. If that's the case, you'd need to link your platform back to its original EA account to try recovering access to anything that's missing.
