Olympus causes BSOD

The new map sometime causes a BSOD with the name KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED caused by the driver dxgmms1.sys and the ntoskrnl.exe

I had the first crash on 10-11-2020 and the second just a few minuts ago on 22-11-2020. I'm not sure what causes this error as I was just walking with my team. I opened a loot bin in the energy depot.

I never had this problem with king's cannon or world edge.

I have a Nvidia GTX 1660 with the latest driver, I run windows 7.

    Hey @draak1400

Is this always happening around the same place on the map, or is it just random?

    /Kent

  • @EA_KentI had it today again, and I was at the estates with havoc in my hands. So it seems to be random. Although, It does happen when playing Rampart (all three I played Rampart), but that might also be because I play rampart quite a lot lately.

The game before the crash I was Loba, 4 games before that I was Caustic.

    @draak1400

Got it, thank you for the info.

When you've got the chance would you mind sharing a DxDiag so we can take a look? You can find more information on how to pull one up over at the EA Help website. Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread.

    Thanks!

  • @EA_KentI added the file you asked for.

I had this BSOD two times, since last report. The first time I was a mirage in World Edge. I just took the zipline from the terminal station to the mainland. First time I had this error on World Edge. Then I Re-installed the graphical driver, I ran sfc /scannow and repaired apex to see if a corrupt file might cause it.

But now I had it with Octane in Olympus.

Into I get in my BSOD file:

    Bug string: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    Bug check code: 0x0000001e

    Parameter 1: ffffffff`c0000005

    Parameter 2:fffff800`035004e1

    Parameter 3: 00000000`00000000

    Parameter 4: 000007ff`ffff0000

    Caused by driver: dxgmms1.sys

    Caused by driver address: dxgmms1.sys+e769

    Crash address:ntoskrnl.exe+93ea0

I hope you can tell me if this is on my side, which means I have to quit playing apex. Or this is on your side (in the game) and some developer might be able to fix this.

Edit: I had the following error showing up in winter express: An exception has occurred (unknown software exception) (0x80000003) in the application at address 0xf3a45e22 for the application r5apex.exe

I'm not sure if this is related to be BSOD screens, but maybe it provides some information.

  • Whenever I would launch Apex Legends I would get a BSOD with the stopcode being KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and easyanticheat.sys under that stop code. I have no clue what happened as I was playing perfectly fine before then it just happened two weeks ago and I haven't been able to play the game since. Every once in a while I would get lucky and be able to get in for 10-15 minutes then it would happen again. Does anyone know how to fix this or have a similar problem?

    Hey @m3brock

Do you have any other anti-cheat programs installed on your PC alongside Easy Anti-Cheat? I've seen some cases recently where it appears that EAC and other anti-cheat software may be conflicting, so I'm curious if that could be happening here as well.
