[PC] Packet Loss Despite None Shown on Data Center Menu or UOTrace
I have recently been having strange connectivity issues in Apex Legends on PC. My character movement and combat is perfectly smooth and there are no framerate drops, but all the characters around me including enemies and allies constantly jump around. The packet loss badge with the three squares is constantly displayed, but the ping badge is not. None of my other online games have this issue. Interestingly, there are no connectivity issues whatsoever during online gameplay in the firing range with friends (P2P connection?). These same symptoms show up when playing on my laptop.
I currently run a WiFi connection on the 2.4GHz band, as I have no other choice. I tried switching to a WiFi adapter that supports the 5GHz band, but that did me no favors so I put it away. I already tried resetting the router.
The first thing that came to mind was switching data centers. Upon opening the data center menu, I saw that my default was Salt Lake City with ping in the 30s to 40s with 0% packet loss. This is rather odd considering there is always packet loss in-game. All other servers I try exhibit the same symptoms or worse. After that, I ran two UOTraces to 100 packets minimum, which are attached. No high ping is displayed, and no packet loss is shown whatsoever.
I am incredibly annoyed at the dichotomy between the "0%" packet loss shown in the traces and the data center menu and the ever-present packet loss badge shown in game. All the other posts I see seem to be unsolved, or contain some qualification such as "packet loss AND high ping" whereas my ping seems unproblematic.
Any help would be appreciated.
