Re: Apex Cross progression popped up but my account wasnt linked

Sorry about the hassle but I want to clarify again. The PSN account I linked to my current EA PC account was not linked to an other EA account prior to this. I didn't have to unlink it from any other account before I linked it to the EA acc.

 Also I did not get this message that others seem to be having issues with.  "EA Account for x was previously linked to the PlayStation® Network account for x. An EA Account can only be linked to one PlayStation® Network account in its lifetime". 

Does this mean I will get the content from my PS? I spent quite a bit of money there. Is there no way for me to get that content?

Hey folks,

If you had played Apex on an account previously, it was linked to an EA account. It's not possible to play Apex without being linked to an EA account.

This means that if you've recently completed the process to link a platform and are no longer seeing any progress, it's been linked to an EA account other than the one that had the initial progress.

The only way to restore that progress would be to re-link the platform to the initial EA account where that progress was unlocked, as progress cannot be transferred from one EA account to another.

I am playing Apex both with EA app and Steam.

Yesterday I use Steam, only the first cross progression prompt is shown but the confirmation to link account prompt is not yet shown.

After I checked EA customer portal in "My Account" I see that my account is not linked to Steam. But when I go to in game friends tab, it says that my account is linked with Steam.

So I tried to unlink steam account from in game options, then link it again. But still, no cross progression prompt and in my EA account, my account is till not linked with steam.

So I tried to link my ea account to Steam via customer portal, but it says that

Until no my accounts has not been merged yet and I have 2 separate progressions in my Steam and EA app.

I'm sorry, this cross-prog rollout is sooooo confusing. 

How do we know if we have 2 platforms on 2 different accounts? As far as I'm aware I only have one EA account...

I just linked my (old) PS to this EA account (that already had my current Steam linked), but I have no idea what/if it was linked to before. You're telling us, that if it's a second account (no idea how that happened) I cannot cross-progress?

If that's the case, who are these people that cross progression works for, and what did they do right that I did wrong 3 years ago when I stopped playing on PS and moved to Steam?

Lastly, for people with two EA accounts this is more like "Cross progression from now on" rather than merging the stats and cosmetics of the accounts? Am I understanding you @EA_Mako 

I had the cross progresion promt appear, but I didnt have my pc (main) account linked to my xbox, or any other platform my xbox is lvl 11 and I dont care about anything on it all I want to do is have access to my pc account on my xbox and pc at the same time. is it possible to get the promt to merge accounts again?

There's no way to merge accounts when you're moving a platform from one EA account to another. That progress stays on the EA account where it was originally earned. 

You mentioned your Xbox account was a lower level and you don't care about that content. Do you have progress on a PC account you're trying to keep? 

I logged on to do the cross progression on my pc and went to link my xbox to it but it said error and wouldn't link so i unlinked my xbox from EA then when i tried to redo it it said "Your accounts can’t be linked because your Xbox account R3d Sku1l already linked to your EA Account for e0*****@disabled.ea.com. An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime." Is there a way to fix this? and i was trying to make a case for it but i could not find the option to it just kept sending me in a loop and not showing option to make one.

According to what you're saying, if my Xbox account was primarily linked to a different email, let's say, for example, Hotmail, and my PlayStation account is linked to a Gmail one, and when cross-progression is announced, I proceed to move my Xbox ID to my Gmail account, where my PlayStation account is linked, it will never be merged because my Xbox account was primarily on Hotmail and now, after the change to Gmail, it won't be.

So when cross progression came out I made the mistake of linking my xbox account to the wrong EA account. Today I was finally able to unlink from the EA account and link it back to the correct account (the one im messaging on). Will it automatically allow me to do cross progression now that it is back linked to the correct account???
