Well... EA just fixed the root cause of this POPCNT issue in Anthem, so there's a recent example right there, from the same publisher.
Perhaps Bioware already had this tweak in the works near release, while Respawn did not account for it - thus it's taking time.
@RevGunthak I know, but I'm not holding my breath :-( . Their lack of acknowledgement of this issue speaks quite loud. And I am definitely not going to buy a new computer just to be able to play some free2play shooter. I will update my machine, eventually, but for Cyberpunk 2077 and not this.
Interesting thing. I actually decided to see what my real OLD rig could do with Fortnite.
Specs:
Mobo - Asus P5W
CPU - Pentium Extreme Edition 955 @ 4.0GHZ 2C/4T
Ram- 8GB DDR2
GPU- Nvidia geforce GTX 555
That Netburst CPU with threads and only has SSE3 can play Fortnite at Low 720p.
The C2Q which are exponentially more powerful than Netburst can easily play Apex Legends if they ever decide to address the POPCNT
