I was also getting the same error.
I was very stressed because the game suddenly crashed and my PC restarted by itself, besides Apex.
It didn't happen on my old PC, but on my latest high-end PC. I tried to fix it by tweaking the power supply and RAM, but it didn't improve, so I left it alone and intel issued a statement.
I am using an ASUS motherboard, and by applying the BIOS update distributed by ASUS just now, Apex now boots normally as well.
Of course, there is no need to change the compatibility mode.

If you are not using intel forget it as unnecessary advice.
