Recurring DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (0x133) BSOD tied to EA Javelin Anti-Cheat
Getting repeated BSOD crashes (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, bugcheck 0x133) that consistently happen when Apex Legends / EA Javelin Anti-Cheat is running. Opened a support case already but the advisor dont support this issue, so posting here in case other players are seeing the same thing or EA dev/QA wants the data.
System: Windows 10, build 19041 (19041.6456), 12 logical processors, AMD platform + NVIDIA GPU.
Analyzed 3 separate crash dumps with WinDbg. All three share the IDENTICAL failure signature:
- FAILURE_ID_HASH: {65350307-c3b9-f4b5-8829-4d27e9ff9b06}
- FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x133_ISR_nt!KeAccumulateTicks
This confirms it's one single reproducible bug, not three unrelated hardware events.
Bugcheck arguments (same in all 3):
Arg1: 0000000000000001 (cumulative time at DISPATCH_LEVEL+ exceeded)
Arg2: 0000000000001e00 (watchdog period)
Arg4: 0000000000000000
Stack trace (identical shape in all 3) shows the crash happening during a driver load/reload operation, which triggers a full TLB flush across all 12 logical processors:
IopLoadDriver → MmLoadSystemImage → MiWalkPageTablesRecursively → MiFlushTbList → [clock interrupt fires] → watchdog trips
Three reproductions:
1. Fresh reboot, launched Apex immediately → BSOD ~3 min after boot
2. Repeated identically on a second reboot, same conditions
3. One occurrence mid-match, ~12 min into a session rather than at launch, same hash/stack, suggesting Javelin's periodic re-check also triggers it
One occurrence was more severe: abrupt power-off instead of a clean BSOD, with the motherboard's CPU debug LED lighting up and the system failing to POST until CMOS was cleared.
Full WinDbg !analyze -v text output for all three dumps attached. Happy to provide the raw .dmp files too if anyone wants them directly.
