Severe FPS lag spikes (Just started recently)

About one week ago, I started noticing an issue playing Apex Legends. I did not change any hardware or software, aside from just keeping my computer up to date as always. Anyway, the game is getting to a point where it's becoming unplayable. Even when I'm not in the game, just in the menus where I can ready up and such, clicking on tabs will frequently just make the entire game pause for a second until it loads. All animations stop, nothing loads for a second, then it's all there.

In game, this happens to. I'll look up, down, around, and occasionally the game just freezes entirely. It's like the FPS goes to ZERO or something, and then recovers. The worst is when it happens in combat, I'll be shooting and the audio starts stuttering while the FPS freezes until it recovers and it's normal again. It's just incredible lag spikes that keep happening in and outside of a game. NO other games or programs on my computer are affected.

I have NEVER had this issue before, and I don't know how to fix it.

I've tried: CLEAN INSTALL of latest Nvidia graphics drivers, CLEAN INSTALL of Apex Legends on Origin, and tried using the Steam version too.

My device is a Lenovo Yoga C940 with 16GB ram, last gen i7, and a GTX 1650

    Hi @fflip8

Have you been keeping an eye on your hardware temperatures while Apex Legends is running? What you're describing sounds like it might be throttling, which can happen if the GPU or CPU is getting too hot.
