Where is the damn audio footsteps in this game ? Hello Respawn ?

My son is currently playing on a 6yo pc  lots of ram, and can hear directional footsteps on headphones, thanks to the below.

There is a workaround to help improve footstep sounds on pc, outlined in the first post in the below thread: (also on xbox 1S with DTS settings and ps5 with headphones and there are other suggestions in the thread)

It is by no means a panacea, but you may find somthing that helps improve your situation, but it does require the sacrificing of some of the games aural landscape
