To be fair, even in 4, they had the ATGMs. They just didn't have the anti infantry rockets. Those were strictly for the attack helicopters.
I think the issue here is that DICE for whatever reason, felt that every vehicle should have almost the exact same things available for this loadout potentials. What happens is that, nothing really feels individual from something else...for the most part.
I say, keep the ATGM...because it has always had it, take away the dumbfire rockets, make the copilot have a spotting camera or a Lazer designator, to better fit the scouting role. Nerf the ATGMs for the nightbird if you want or have to, to differentiate between the attack choppers and the scout choppers.
OR
Create a light attack helicopter category and put that in there and strip it of the ATGMs and make it solely an anti infantry helicopter, where the only defense/offense weapon it has for armor is an upgraded miniguns that does a bit of damage to armored targets....more so for lightly armored vehicles..
Either way, would love to see some new models for that to come in. Maybe something similar to the Lynx or something.
Also...so we have more access to different vehicles at any one time. This way, potentially, there could be a transport helicopter, scout/light attack helicopter and an attack helicopter all up at once...but all having different roles to do..
Maybe that is just me? Lol
