@CPT_GASLIGHT Fair, noted. Tho it feels really like 50 cal. I never ever were able to hide anywhere from it. No cover is good enough.

a 50 cal is a 12.7mm round that has a projectile that weighs 700 grains (45.3 grams or 1.6 ounces). a 50 MM cannon shell fires a 31,500 grain projectile (little over 2 KILOS, or 4.5 lbs)
they are not the same thing, they don't do the same thing, they are not interchangeable. 50 cal can be shoulder fired unsupported (granted, it is heavy). 50MM cannot without causing great harm to the person behind the cannon (a person wouldn't be able to pick it up anyway so it couldn't be done even if one wanted to)

Just to clarify the point that @Psubond is making a 50mm is nearly 2 inches in diameter as opposed to a .50 cal which is only a half of an inch in diameter.
HUGE difference.

Now you only have to get a feeling how big an 'inch' is. 😉
50mm == 5cm, so this is intuitive, but 2 inches. :P
