As a player who loves playing in helicopters and jets I feel that a lot of the time when spawning I’m instantly having someone able to lock on with a AA ROCKET from my spawn. This needs to be addressed asap as there’s no cover to really get away from the lock on range (most maps) and air combat seems dull.
Map ceilings are huge so it's best to just travel straight up to break your lock on maps with no real cover
as an infantry player everytime i play there is always 2- 3 helis just flyin in circle over my head, while they fly in circle over our heads they just pew pew rockets, switch to miniguns , comeback to pew pew rockets all while circling around over our heads, to top it off they dont even have to go to a station to recharge thier ammo and the helo repair itself alone without needing intervention from the solo guy in it just doing all the stuff i just described alone like a champ !! Please buff helis they are so underpowered !!
EDIT: btw the range of all the AA stuff need a serious buff !!
I am actually having problems locking on.. I could be dead facing the target ADS with AA or RPG + Soflam and I get no lock signal. Doesn't matter if I am close or not, I never saw countermeasures being deployed
The range is only like between 400-450m. The maps offer more than enough cover to interrupt the lock on. Already a tree is able to do that. If you get locked on immediately after spawn, than most likely an enemy jet or chopper is just going after you.

Especially jets.
Earlier the other team on CQ hourglass had 3 jets, 2 of which seemed to be on voice coms and they were unstoppable.

The flares animations seems to not play always for those who are not close enough.
These guys have flared and you did not see it

But I made something like this once, too. Me and a friend via discord covered each other in the jet and by coincidence we had a pub flying with us in a third jet. In one round, we completely dominated airspace and the enemy team literally didn´t dare to spawn in a jet or helicopter for like 10 minutes or so.
One time, this even worked with a random on my team, too. I was just flying on my own and minding my own business. But soon I noticed my wingman was actually quiet good and we covered each other. We also dominated the whole round and only got killed near end of round because of bugged flares.
@Terminator000001the game could really used a home base territory with an automated C-ram like in BF4.
The way the spawns are paced the enemy airforce can be picked one at a time without any chance of regrouping.
Even more so than BFV, there is nothing one jet can do vs 2 other jets where one is in front and the other on the back.
