First I was really confused by the icons and what they really meant. How does a skull mean kills and an X means deaths? It's weird. And honestly, what do those icons add to the game? What's wrong with letters (K, D, A, etc)?And second, I like that there's so much more info about assists, revives and objectives. It highlights that you don't need to do kills in order to top the scoreboard and win the game. However, I'm having a hard time actually looking at those numbers. It takes me a while to follow the row for the correct name and then make sure I am looking at the correct column. In BFV's scoreboard there are lines with slightly different alternating colors, which makes it way easier. Probably the fact that there are only K and D in BFV also helps. There must be a way to make it easier to follow and find the information with all the info. I'm not a graphics designer so can't tell you the answer straight away.

@1BSKS1 You've literally never needed kills to top the scoreboard, playing objective and supporting your squad/team has often been a great way to top scoreboards.The core problem is this game doesn't have a functional scoring system, which is why they had to fake it with the scores on the scoreboard (you can see the arbitrary modifiers they gave to each stat - kills are worth 2 points, assists worth 1 points, revives worth 2 points etc.). There's an XP system, but no proper score system which is why there are no longer rewards for things like suppressing enemies or proper assist-XP for vehicles.For taking 3 months to build, and for having community feedback on the first version shown in January, this is still an incredibly poor scoreboard (from a UI perspective) and it just highlights other problems/missing features in the game like the scoring system.If this is the best the team can do in 3 months, the game has a very dark, depressing future. If a future at all.

With the danger of getting suspended here again (seems the MODs are their own judges what is considered "rude" and what i consider reality) but the scoreboard is the perfect proof that Dice have no clue what they doing. Yes, its a scoreboard but the way its designed its clear that 2042 will never be the game some still hope for it to be. This isnt complicated. It isn't complex design. Its been in hundreds of games before and clearly, if you played past BF game, you know what a simple and clear SB Should look like. Is this really so hard? Plain and simple.

i can easily understand it but it is way too "busy". there is too much going on with this scoreboard. whole left panel needs to go away and there are too many columns in the scoreboard. all we need is to be ranked by total exp earned and have kills/deaths (and maybe revives)

They have lost it at DICE, the design makes no sense. HOW HARD IS IT TO DO A SCOREBOARD, wtf? DICE you did it fine 5 + 3 times before, just copy what you did!!!

Am I the only one confused by the scoreboard?

I agree with you.
Kills and assists confuses me. I want to know how many people I killed. It overstates my count if it has all deaths where I just shot a person a little and then they get run over by a tank.
That to me is not a kill.
also I hate it that I can only see the scoreboard when I am in the game and not when I get killed which is when I would have time to check.

@Buzzfunk yeah, this was such an easy win. Just use a previous scoreboard style with the standard info (rank), K, D, score, and even ping if you so dare. That's it.

5 seconds of thought, 15 minutes of design and the "new" scoreboard is here. Just goes to show how well a first day intern can do to make the game more playable.

I don't get the scoreboart either. Why are revives in there? Why are they so much more important than other teamplay actions?

The older scoring systems were way better. 100p for a kill. %-based assists. Fair points for any Team based or objective actions like repairs and stuff. Extra points for following squad orders or support your squad mates.
There was one thing I didn't like in BF4 and later and that's "Assists counts as kill". Kinda dumb when 2 people get a kill count for one dead enemy. But for everything else they had a pretty well working system which got improved over the years and just got thrown out the window for no reason at all.
Just like many other "legacy" features. They clearly don't even want Teamplay anyway with this "Squad" system that is so poor, it could be removed today and nobody would even notice.

@NiCeDiCe90 IMO the assists counts as kill wasn't a bad thing. it only kicked in if you did like 75% of the damage to a player which helped with kill steals. i see both sides of the argument on the assist counts as kill thing though
