Are smurf accounts a thing? See so many new accounts ripping the scoreboards

I see it so often litterly fresh same day accounts that are ripping the scoreboard, they seem to just buy the game make a new account and pay for the Battlepass and rip the scoreboards... but why?

I know some people have used them in the past but I don't think it's widespread. I'm not sure why you're seeing this so will assume it's decent players or something.

I just notice it a lot, fishy deads I tend to keep an eye on players and 9/10 times they are 'smurf' accounts always PC. Just find it odd.
