battlefield 2042 will not start anymore after update

hy

im getting frustrated  i was running battelfield 2042 for a long time sinds season 7 begon and today a wanted to start it and it downloaded som sort of update and now it will not start

i did following

cleared cache

checked integrety of files

removed game completely and also removes steam and evry time shut down and reboot pc

then in reinstalled steam and by steam i installed all of 90 gigs of battlefield and dit set the files steam.exe and battelfield.exe to run as admin

the steam was not working was missing steam_api64.dll that i downloaded through a youtube tip and put it in system 32 and for the 64  ( im running 64 bits )

now steam was running but when i clik ( doubbel ) on the battelfield icon it says

in the red bowl starting games and bar is shifting from left to right but after 1 minuut it just stops

i can see in my taskmanager it is totally dead

i tried disabeleing my antivirus but no sigar

any thoughts ?? im all out and pretty down

going to sleep and hoping tomorrow a new start or even a reinstall of the whole pc :-(((((((((((

thnx so far

Did you move to the desktop the BF2042 folder in MyDocuments and let BF2042 recreate it?

    Only thing you didn't mention?

  • Hello,

Update Visual C++ Redistributables: Sometimes, missing or outdated Visual C++ Redistributables can cause issues. You can download and install the latest versions from the Microsoft website.
Run System File Checker: This tool can repair missing or corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command:
    sfc /scannow

Update GPU Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the NVIDIA or AMD website, depending on your GPU.
Disable Overlays: Sometimes, overlays from applications like Discord, NVIDIA GeForce Experience, or Steam can cause issues. Try disabling them.
Reinstall EA App: If you’re using the EA app, try reinstalling it. Go to your game folder (SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042__Installer\Origin\redist\internal\EAappInstaller) and run the installer as an administrator.
Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows is fully updated. Sometimes, missing updates can cause compatibility issues.

    Best Regards
