Battlefield Labs Leaks 🚨

Battlefield Labs testing has barely started and there are already leaks! This is not normal. These players were lucky enough to be chosen to get their hands on this new Battlefield to end up doing this! To the detriment of other players who don't have the chance to participate in its testing. It's really a shame that right at the beginning of a new era on Battlefield, it starts like this.

What I'm saying is that those of us who have played all, or nearly all previous BF games, will have a better understanding of what features they liked best from past games and how they can be improved upon for the next release. It's not what was the best BF game, but rather what were the best features of each game they liked.

I just hope a bunch of die-hard COD clowns aren't getting in on the BF playtest and providing the majority of feedback! That's a scary thought, isn't it? 😁I'm hoping Dice hits a home run with the next BF game. I love the series.

Oh, but I have played them all, and a lot. I first started noticing the downfall and my enjoyment level waning with BF3, but still played it quite a bit. Then the same with BF4, but played a little less than BF3 because of the changes causing more waning interest. So much so that I only played some stress tests of BFOne and BF5, as I could tell via gameplay vids on YT they were doing more and more of the things I didn't like. I got BF2042 thinking I could tolerate the game and enjoy it, but it's just not my style, so played very little. The franchise just does a considerable number of things I don't like, want, or need ever since after BC2.

I really don't like body awareness stuff, as player movement and collision boxes suffer a lot as a result - yet that's been a thing since BF3. With each BF iteration, it finds itself necessary to look bigger, badder, flashier, bigger teams, bigger booms, more map clutter, more realistic to the nth degree in every way, shape, and form, more ways to light you up on a mini-map and in viewport, getting rid of a true Hardcore mode... which doesn't appeal to me, personally. It looks cool, but I miss the vibe of BC2. I'm not even a fan of seeing avatars of your squad pre-match. Where's the rest of the team? Feels limiting, isolating, and a little forced to me.

In the Labs trailer, they said they essentially want to make BF6 bigger and badder than anything ever before. Obviously, BF6 has potential, and is probably undergoing constant change. They've asked the testers for feedback. I just hope there are more than one or two players testing who also thing BC2 was the pinnacle of BF :) And hopefully EA will be willing to scrap (or consider scrapping) complete systems, ideas, or implementations that have already been made in favor of making the game more aligned with BC2 *if* enough players ask for that, or if it seems that feature creep is taking over the game. Maybe my narrow window of personal likes and dislikes rooted in BC2 is too fringe at this point, given two decades of "more, more, more" in BF.

I sort of wish the BF master reset button could be pushed to get back to BC2 state, and a few things added or enhanced from that state. Newer BFs sometimes feel like a big flashy game that prioritize slick visuals, lighting, effects, and perceived slick movement over gameplay. I'd like very tight and responsive player movement... not clunky movement and parkour slides and vaults that take control away from you for a few moments so animations can play out or as your collision box hits a wall behind you when lying prone or what not. I prefer more limited and focused player options over sprawling choices. Despite all the BF "evolutions", we still can't lean left and right around corners with Q and E keys, I'm pretty sure? I think that should have been added long before Mirror's Edge-inspired player awareness, parkour slides, and vaults... and before adding 'prone' position (which is still broken). IMO, it should be a no-brainer to add leaning. As a fan of the games Thief 1 and 2 which has leaning, I've wanted leaning in BF since playing BC2, my first foray into the series. Leaning feels so natural in T1/T2, and without it in BF, it feels rigid having to have to move your entire body to peek around corners

  • Leaked information. If you can identify the "culprit", please report it to EA. Testers are bound by confidentiality obligations. They are not allowed to share information with outside parties.

  • If the new GTA hits in early fall do we have a chance you think to see this by Christmas time?

I have been prepared for the leaks honestly for the long time, way before any visual leaks as videos and screenshots. BFV mechanics already had been discussed over the Internet. We do know who is in charge when it comes to gameplay mechanics.

Whoever thought none of the footage is going to be leaked, must be living in a delusional world. Giving access to a completely random people over the Internet will result in leaked gameplay. I was astonished by the fact that someone had had enough guts to stream the game. I have no idea, but punishing players who released the gameplay do not make sense, especially when this should be painfully obvious. Overall reception in my view is more positive than negative. My mates pointed that leaked footage looks like BF2042, I was claiming that more like BFV. Everyone should know that visually this game will be extremely close to BF2042 and V era.

I do not think that opinion of a random people will contribute into BF series, especially without any understanding of what makes a decent teamplay experience especially in CQ. Fast game pace without division of roles will destroy teamplay, and is going to make it optional. Why should I follow Squad Leader if shooting mechanics requires no skill gap, I have most of the gadgets and equipment to succeed on my own? Only players with top-end machines and good skills will flourish in such environment.

Overall, I am happy to see the early stages of the game. I am aware that not much is going to be changed by the release date. 7 months is good enough for polishing balance, upgrading animations, creating more CQ maps in the pipeline, tinkering with HUD.

I AM HAPPY WITH THE LEAKED GAMEPLAY LOL

That game will decide the future of the series, it's not that strange that they allow little leaks and get the chance to get feedback from as many people as possible and not just from those few invited.

Take the opportunity and tell them your opinion about the game, instead of worrying about pointless red tape.

  • I wanna ask. Is leaking BTF Labs gameplay footage or screenshots when you can sign up to it is even legal?

Nothing from gameplay or from being part of playtest can be shared. Need to read NDA

  • Kinda odd to ask but from people who have watched the leaks

What speed would you say the game is? More like BF4 or 2042
