@Trokey66 I’ll be the first to admit that I fell for the marketing campaign, trailers, love letter to the fans crap and believed them when they said the beta was an old build. I absolutely should have cancelled my pre-order after playing the beta. Lesson learned, never pre-order a game.
Are you suggesting that I keep playing a game that I think is trash because oops, my mistake for trusting DICE to make a Battlefield game? Nah…let this crap burn in a paper bag…
That being said I am not your lone wolf BF player. I liked the structure of the class system and picked my class based on the composition of the squad I was joining and did my best to fulfill the role of that class and was rewarded for doing my job regardless of K/D. I’m not stupid, not everyone played this way but It wasn’t hard to team up with those who did. This to me, was Battlefield in a nutshell. Now when you join a match and are placed in a squad you have no idea what any of them are doing because any specialist can do whatever. You can’t change your squad, you can’t see the composition of the entire team and it wouldn’t matter if you could, you can’t stay in a server if you find a good one where the teams seem evenly matched. There are just so many things in the design choices of 2042 that push players to the lone wolf meta builds and hamper the ability to get a good cohesive squad going . Some people like that and good for them, enjoy the game.
Shame on me for having some expectations after 20 years of Battlefield and believing the hype they were putting out there.
I've built loadouts around the old class system and mix and match them with different specialist depending on what is going on around me and am more than willing to change either/both if game flow decrees it.
If vehicles are smashing up the place, I don't need to know team composition to change to an anti vehicle load out to deal with them because it is self evident.
If there are loads of dead team mates persistently around me, I don't need to know team composition to change to a Medic based speacialist/ load out, it is self evident.
The 'social' side I can agree on, that has been by far the biggest issue since launch but not if you read the forums.
And don't forget, that is what I have based these posts on, years of experience around here, I know how the 'community' mind works.

@Trokey66 Kudos to you for your squad/team based style of play, I can appreciate that. I just can’t get over the drastic amount of stuff they removed and the corny crap they put in. I put 90+ hours into the game and it’s just not rewarding to play in my opinion. I’ve had about 2 rounds, in that 90+ hours, where a squad mate and I actually worked together to take out vehicles, heal or supply each other and focus on the objective. Other than that, I always feel like I’m working alone in this game which really sucks because I prefer an engineer based style of play and the vehicles in this game are hard to take out working alone. Older titles were not this bad in that respect but again, that is my experience and opinion.
I sincerely hope you continue to enjoy 2042.
