Can We Sort the Balancing?

Like the title says, this game is horrifically unbalanced when it comes to teams. 90% of the time, and that is not an exaggeration, I'm being lumped into a team that barely knows how to function. The bots do more than these players, including better teamplay, attacking and defending, and engaging vehicles. Meanwhile, the enemy team is packed full of players who know exactly what to do in every scenario regardless of their ranking. Enemy vehicle roaming around, aircraft flying about? It'll do so unopposed. Spawn a/or on a vehicle/aircraft and you will be immediately engaged by every form of anti-vehicle weapon in existence.

Medics running over your body, sitting two feet away. Enemy medics rezzing everybody in sight instantly. Attackers act like defenders and then on defence, don't defend. Don't respond to flag captures. Throw in the usual assortment of questionable players who likewise get lumped into the enemy team more often than not and it results in loss after loss in matches that can run into streaks of 12 or more. Tell your team to start doing something and all you get are a bunch of trolls who don't even care for what they're playing.

Match right there, enemy tanker parks on the hill near the objective, shoots at their leisure. Not a single attempt to fire rockets at it. Meanwhile I'm having rockets fired at my Wildcat, and have people coming out of their area with C5 trying to destroy me. People just do their stupid, trolling responses about you not having many kills at that point as if that makes your point illegitimate. Literally cannot engage enemy infantry with a tank parked up waiting for me.

Hmm, I thought adding classes would bring back the teamwork?!? /s

  • I had to literally SCREAM at that team to do something. They were leading by a few hundred tickets and then just gave up for 80% of the match and camped between the flags. We won by 120 in the end, but it was tainted by this constant having to force them to do something about it. My tank gets instantly obliterated by every player with explosives in a ten mile radius because my team won't support it and kill one enemy, who respawns their squad, who all have explosives. I have to get multikilled by some low rank bullet sponge, and they have a cheater who makes mincemeat of my helicopter five seconds into using it, then instantly snipes me from the parachute with the miniguns in a heartbeat.

Even when you win, it sucks. The experience just sucks ALL the time.

  • @Moab23 I really hope Dice actually reads this comment and puts it into context when evaluating the recent changes they've implemented. I blows my mind that they actually thought the entire player base - one which they've diluted through the free trials and game pass - would experience an epiphany and start playing as a team by adding classes. How could anyone actually expect player tendencies to change following a poorly implemented update, which conflicts with the core game elements in this specific BF title?

And when I say poorly implemented, I'm referring directly to the decision made that aligned classes with a single set of equipment vs. having load outs by specialist and layers upon layers of controls. Having a single set of items for each class, across 3-4 different specialists, does not equate to having load outs.

@TroyMuni We knew this was going to happen. It always does. A vocal group spouts that they want something 'classic' but all they end up doing is breaking the experience, we all get saddled with it, and they move off to something else anyway. I'd even wager most of the ones wanting it barely played the game to begin with, and certainly weren't going to because the classes were implemented.

@Moab23You hit the nail on the head right there. The only people they engaged for feedback were streamers / pro-gamers who don't play with random players via matchmaking. 99.9% of the people playing BF2042 hop into a game and end up with a squad they've never played with. It's essentially guaranteed that you'll end up with at least 1 person (or more) as a squad-mate using Boris who spends the entire match sniping prone next to his little turret. And Dice goes and rewards those players by making them one of the few capable of dealing with vehicles by being able to select the M5 or AA rocket. You just have to shake your head and wonder what were they thinking?

@TroyMuni This is I feel the downside of the EA Creator Network. They're looking to a tiny group of people who, lets be honest, don't really play the game that much in the grand scheme. They play what is popular at the time and beneficial for them personally to stream. Unfortunately, their opinions get elevated over those who do play a lot, and they get their fanbases to back them up over their opinions. Lost track of how many times I've seen Youtubers complain about a feature, get a fix, play it once, say its great, then make another video about the 'problems' and the cycle just repeats.
