is it possible to play cross gen xbx ps5? Cant find them when is search for friends..
Community ManagerHey @ToSIIColette Depending on which console you play on, you won't be able to play. We have a breakdown of 2042's cross-play here. Due to last-gen limitations, they play on 64-player battles rather than 128-players. so Gen 4 can only matchmake with PS4 and Xbox one (not series X|S)
Will we have some sort of crossplay between consoles only (next gen)? It's hard to find a match if we turn it off. If we turn it on there's 90% of the lobby full of mk players. Having no aim assist and server browser just makes it worse. It's simply not fun. Most people just want something fair. Input crossplay (mk x mk, controller x controller) or at least xbox series x ps5 together without PC.
It absolutely needs to be easier to disable cross-play on Xbox. It's too complicated, and thus we are being forced to play with PC. The game launched with little to no aim assist, and forced crossplay with PC. If its going to take a long time to figure out the Aim Assist issue, it needs to be a priority to put the option to disable crossplay in the actual game. I doubt you're going to get very many new Xbox players if this is what they experience. People arent going to give this game a second chance if theyre playing against PC with no aim assist.
I play on Xbox with cross play off and have done for best part of a week now. I'm in the UK and servers aren't a huge issue. If you get stuck on the 'waiting for players' screen the press start, quit to menu, matchmake again. It usually goes eventually.
We def need a console specific cross play feature though.
