A flare is a counter to an infrared/heat seeking threat.
It's already bad enough that flares counters SOFLAM which doesn't rely on IR. A flare disrupting a wireless data link doesn't make any more sense.
I accept that this is a game and we have to bend the real world rules from time to time, but I'd like to see a different solution than just making flares a universal counter to everything.
I'd prefer to see 2-3 countermeasure types with tradeoffs in their effectiveness between IR, hacking and laser threats.
