@BinaryNinja There are many different ways clans or communities work. All have their own policies. On rental servers it starts with more defined rules about profanity and harassment, shotgun and sniper limits and how team balancing works. Expect that the experience will be different from official servers.
But so far we don't have any information if there will be a rental server program, and when there will be one, what controls will be available.
BFV made it very hard to get more than one squad on one team, which was really annoying. But the situation is very different from rental servers.
On official servers, there is usually no connection between me and the enemy teams players, I have a connection to my friends and community members.
When someone plays on one of our servers, an anonymous player becomes a guest. Frequent guests get recognized by the the community, and eventually become part of the community.
Battlefield is a team based game. At least when you see a squad with the same platoon tag, you know that there is a squad that plays as a squad. I understand, to have two squads on one team that plays together is what makes Battlefield different from other games.
I am positively surprised when I join a random squad that plays together, but sadly it is a rare occasion.
I for my part would like to see the option to switch teams return with BF2042, because I believe strengthening the community is better than making community game play especially difficult.
