I remember reading an ancient post on BF3 about bot support.
Apparently DICE (back then) said that bot support was too difficult because the bots could not navigate through rough terrain and through destroyed walls.
I think they said something about how the bot models kept getting stuck in places and would often clump up in places.
But if they use player movement data (and using machine learning and AI as well as player consent), we could see rather realistic player movement in-game.
So maybe no more dumb-as bricks teamates anymore, hopefully.

i dont like the idea of bots in multiplayer, but if they are in then the devs will have to mix up the quality. We cant just have 32 elite super soldiers sniping across the map or 32 planks staring at the floor and shooting into thin air either. From my time playing battlefront bots, im not hopeful of the quality though

I am hopeful that they could at least become good assignment fodder.
