Increasing tactical Sprint speed for all soldiers
Increasing tactical Sprint speed for all soldiers could solve some of the game's issues with the infantry experience.
What am I suggesting?
Tactical Sprint increased by a significant amount when in use - not so much that soldiers look crazy zipping around the battlefield, but enough to cut down travel time.
As a result of this increased speed, coming out of tactical Sprint will make you vulnerable for longer than the current sprintout time. This will encourage using it when out of combat. The character could be given a hypodermic animation for the sprint to give some in world explanation.
When the player stops, the tactical Sprint would then have a cooldown so that it cannot be used repeatedly. The duration of a single tactical Sprint will still be unlimited, but could slow down if used for an excessive amount of time if determined necessary by balancing/testing.
I think of this similar to octane in apex. He gets a significant speed boost but does not look or feel out of place with other infantry. (Not suggesting any health cost for the faster sprint or any additional trade offs, just the increased sprintout weapon ready time and minor cooldown (5-10s))
What does this solve?
Traversal time between objectives reduced.
Infantry survivability increased by virtue of being in open spaces for less time and being a harder target moving faster.
Tactical Sprint becomes a more interesting gameplay mechanic. The regular Sprint vs tactical Sprint choice becomes more of a risk/reward.
Tactical Charge along with other map changes could help improve the infantry experience, without needing to add more vehicles or personal transportation.
Other thoughts:
Perhaps a maximum duration of a single tactical Sprint could be established if an average distance between conquest objectives was established and used as a guide.
