@cso7777BF5 guns had the luxury of low RPM thanks to WW2 settings. There were no ARs/SMGs with 40+ round mags firing at 800-1000 round per minute. So even if a weapon had super fast RPM such as M2 Carbine or FG42, they usually had low mags and higher recoil.
There were of course MMGs. I think people still haven't forgiven Dice this unholy playstyle of camping in a corner with a laser-accurate weapon that had no recoil and 200 rounds at the ready
But I do agree with you. After this patch it became very easy to control the recoil. I'd say bumping recoil for some of the high RPM guns like M5A3 with a short barrel, AW40, Avancys and such by 5-10% wouldn't be a bad change.
