it's been months and the PKP-BP is still the most OP infantry weapon there is, and dice won't say anything about it. then again, they don't say much about anything in the first place.
Still waiting dice, the weapon balancing in this game needs A LOT of work please give us some sort of news or announcement. please dice.
Maybe but with all the things wrong with this game, let's focus on one gun because that's the real problem. Not the laggy controls, or lock on issue, or hit recognition, or matchmaking problems. This is the real issue.

There are many issues with the game. That doesn't mean this is not a valid one - it is. The gunplay in general could really use some care and attention. Marksman rifles don't make any sense. SMGs are ridiculously accurate out to 50m. Both assault rifles and SMGs outperform DMRs at the DMRs intended ranges.The NTW-50 is a crime against skill.
Yes, the hitreg, input lag, server lag spikes (teleporting players) and generally poor framerates on the majority of hardware are all issues. They would be fixed by different teams than the one that manages the gun statistics. They need feedback too in order to improve the experience for all players.
I do wonder if it has inadvertently received its bipodded stats even if not bipodded, it is arguably a tad too good for an LMG.
That said, because of no suppression mechanics and compared to the likes of SMGs, it's not that bad (good) depending on your point of view.

If the user has a chance to deploy the bipod, it's like the beam from the Death Star.
@filthy_vegansWell these statements are wrong on so many things here .. In 2042 the " Smgs " are actually SMG and carbines combined in 1 sub categories and their range suits the game .. This aint a COD arena game where ranges of weapons is 1/200e of their real life counterpart ..
Thats said A Vector AKA K30 effective range in full auto is very poor and its manageability as well while a more carbine like PBX or Bizon PP will do much better but not remotly as well as most AR ..
As for the M5 it can be a close to a " cabine " with short barel and Ar with long barels but there is trade off ..
2042 is by far the most balanced BF in history wjen it come to weapons balance .. Every weapons are equally effective when used properly .. thing that wasnt the case in many past BF
Most people have already stopped using the PKP because it has the fatal flaw of a longer time to recover from sprints.
It is the K30 that people wreck faces with. It audibly almost make a sound like the BRRRT gun for an A10 attack plane at certain distance on the receiving end.
I think I will also agree with Stew above that in 2042, the available weapons are mostly more balanced to each other. Sure the SMGs and the ARs are ahead of the pack but this is more due to versatility vs specialization.
Meanwhile in BFV you will see mostly Type-2A
i just finished T1 for PKP and i'll go on record as saying i'm never touching that gun again. hated using it (i never liked LMG in any game though so that may be part of it). ever since goldeneye i had a reflex for reloading after a firefight and i had to temper that to be able to use the lmg
