@Trokey66I agree that using gadgets in the game are not "exploiting", my issue with things like this, is bad game-design.
Dice has made it even harder for themselves to balance things, by introducing the specialists and the need for giving them all unique 'powers'/gadgets.
@cso7777 quick fix to this would be to disallow gadget placement in base area, but that would require devs to play the game - to realize the issue

I wonder if you ever played BF3 when they prevented Mortars from being placed in spawn because of 'community' whinging, what a disaster that was!
It meant that during a spawn trap, the trapped couldn't use Mortars to help with a breakout but the trappers could rain down Mortar fire into spawn with impunity.
Terrible idea!
