After listening to today's Inside Battlefield I can say there is likely zero chance of Borris Turret being buffed. One of the senior (Hi Amo) producers at DICE indicated his disdain for this gadget doing any damage against infantry at all. Part of this was presented as friendly banter between him and the other producer regarding thier playstyle differences. But there did seem to be some genuine disgust for this gadget by Amo.
And I do mostly understand his position. In short he was taking umbrage at the bad feel it gives when Boris is crouched in a corner with a turret at the other corner and setting up camp with their ranger dog and you get killed by this without the need for the other player utilizing any real technical skill.
Like other have stated, it seems the current intent of DICE is for the weapon to be more of a decoy and used to do some interrupting damage to vehicles.
All well and good Amo. But then shouldn't Boris' mastery be based on how much damage the sentry turret absorbs instead of deals? If its meant as more of a decoy/impediment to the enemy wouldn't it make more sense to have the mastery be based on how much damage the sentry takes vs. dealt?
This turret was nerfed heavily in an earlier season, but no adjustment was made to the mastery assignment for this specialist. Could the producers please consider that when you make these significant changes (often for the better) to these weapons and gadgets, that someone should be re-evaluating, and updating the mastery critera for the specialists, weapons, and gadgets? I realize not everyone experiences enjoyment from completing these T1 masteries. But, there are some of us who do and would like them be more consisent and fair after these heavy nerfs.
