Re: Paik's "wall hack" - a suggestion for a fix

I feel like *we* as a group put a little too much faith in Portal at this point haha

Another alternative in non-HZ, make it a single ping with the created outline static, a slightly wider cover zone with a max amount of targets (random number, let's say 5 for argument's sake) and ability outlines don't show up on the minimap.

Of course, normal map ping methods should still work, so if they're revealed on the minimap as well, then you have an effective confirmation someone's parked and waiting for you.

That way, it'll punish straight up camping but not be too broken against people moving and not in effect be a short term "legal" wall hack.

I still think the mechanism is a joke outside of R6-style games, but since i doubt they're removing it, might as well make a suggestion that'll make it a little less jarring.

The above suggestion is also to make it a little more sensible as a recon ability, the way it's implemented now it should be an assault ability.

(then again we don't have classes now so i guess the recon label is rather vague in itself)

Yeah you're right. Paik definitely fits the assault class label better than recon as both her traits are more beneficial in close quarters. But as you said, classes are basically gone unfortunately.

No definetley Recon Spec-Ops. Widen your perspective about the recon role.
