@BigShotttyeah its just getting out of hand now, and any info we have had has always been about custom portal, absolutely nothing on solo/coop. Even though its been passed to them whether it be through Twitter or this thread and still no answers about what is going on.
Also what about the people who buy it on Epic after seeing the quote on their own website about the game -
"So if your main goal is to unlock everything, don’t worry about which mode you’re doing in, just drop in and have fun."
Only to find that you actually cant because they turned it off nearly 4 weeks ago after 1 day. They seriously need to change it now to earn in solo/coop anything you can in multiplayer as was intended
The biggest thread here asking for this, to have back the intended feature for solo/coop and they just bury their heads in the sand and hope it goes away (so it seems). Its not going away and will keep on until we get what we paid for. They are only making it worse for themselves
The best thing they can do for us loyal customers is to put solo/coop full xp and progression on tiers, playercards weelkies etc. We even said just half the xp for everything in solo/coop to what you would get in multiplayer. Dont know how much fairer we can be. We obviously care for the game and want it to get better and love to play it, otherwise we wouldnt be here, but yet it seems like the pver's are treated like they dont exist
EA/Dice if you are reading this and I truly hope you are, we are asking you as paying customers, as gamers and as fans of this game, give back uncapped xp, take off all restrictions (including going towards battlepass when released), let us do weeklies where possible and just half the xp we get compared to multiplayer in solocoop. So for example give us 25 for a kill instead of 50, give us 500 for a ribbon instead of 1000 and so on. Please do the right thing
We just want to play the game, have fun and look forward to the future of the game. Whether its for PVE or PVP (i love playing both but bought it mainly for solo/coop and custom portal), we are all just wanting to play as we want as we paid for.We get why custom portal had to be temporarily put on hold, but why did solo/coop have to suffer
I have been a BF fan since BF1942, rode the hype trains, been through the troubled releases of past games and still stayed loyal to BF, and have played nearly all that was released.
Not played BF2042 for a couple of weeks now. Got almost all weapons to mastery 12 and therefor nothing else to grind for that I care about.
Didn't buy this game to be told after the fact that I need to go into the MP cesspit to get full progress.
I already feel incredibly cheated and conned. Can't even do the weekly challenges because they don't count for SOLO. Plus there's not even a Rush mode in SOLO even if they did work there.
If the Battlepass is also turned off for SOLO, this will be uninstalled and they've lost me as a customer for any future titles. Not that I would buy them anyway, as it looks like all future Battlefields are going to be Hero rubbish.

I really just don't understand the lack of communication from the devs on this one. They answer dozens of other questions on social media, interact with a ton of people, yet here we are and it's radio silence towards solo/co-op. It's beginning to feel like this is all we are going to be able to unlock and they just don't want to give us the bad news. They would rather us keep speculating that it's either temporary or tied in to the portal restrictions that way we have motivation to keep the game or keep playing the game. If they come out and say "mastery 12, no weekly missions are what we intended for theis mode" they know they would lose any players that got this game to primarily play solo.

If this turns out to be the case I think they will lose a lot of players. As those that bought it for pve will just move on and forget about this game

@DominickB3if they don't put solo/coop xp and progression back as intended soon they will lose them anyway. Well they already started losing them which will just dwindle the player base even more

I'll probably venture into rush this weekend to get the weekly challenges done, but other than doing the challenges and getting my first match xp I am probably done with the game until they either revert progression back to normal, or announce it's like this to stay.

@DominickB3I just finished my challenges. I like playing pvp but I bought this game mainly for solo/coop (to play with a few friends who now refuse to touch it unless xp and prog is back fully) and custom portal (was really looking forward to some of the servers people would come up with), with some pvp thrown in. Bought on the basis we were led to believe that xp and progression could be done in any mode.

Kind of off topic but I figured someone here might know, if I go to my friends house and sign in on my account his ps5 will I be able to play with my account?

I believe so.
My son has my old PS4 (I have a PS5). He logs in on my account but as a different user. He has B2042 installed on his system as do I. We both can log in and play on either one. .....what's more is that we can both play with each other in different rooms.

I was hoping to make a Portal mode which closely matched what I loved about the original Rainbow Six games.
PvP where if you were hit just once, you were either dead or wounded. If you were wounded, your aim and speed was severely impacted. There was no way to heal. A second hit was a guaranteed death.
Once you were dead there was no respawn for you, instead you must watch the game play out till the end, with the last man alive winning.
No other FPS game I've played gave me such a strong feeling for the need to be careful and tactical. Even to the point of not taking easy kills, if the risk of announcing my position was too high with other threats close by.
I've had a look at the basic options for creating a Portal mode like this, but I've not found options to replicate all of this. Perhaps it's possible with the more complex rules.
Also not sure if many available maps would be conducive for this type of play.

I expect this would be possible with the PS5, as it is with the PS4.
On PS4, you can create separate local user profiles and each of those profiles can be configured with different PSN accounts.
Each of these user profiles can be protected with their own PIN number, to prevent your account from being used without your permission.
A great feature which allows separated player progress and protection from unwanted save-game loss or alteration.
This also allows split screen multiplayer for games which allow it, between friends each using their own PSN accounts to play.

I get it and I would love nothing more than a full restoration of all progress to Portal, solo and coop. It's unfair the way they have it set up now and much worse than what it could be with similar restrictions in place for progression caps if exploitation is their concern.
That's my point I guess that they overstepped. ....overreacted. They could have still kept Mastery progression in Portal for example with a cap while they figure out a better way to mitigate the problem. That would be far better than what we have now IMO. Still, not not necessarily an acceptable long-term solution but better for those of us (for example) who are only interested in Portal being forced to play other modes to unlock acc's, etc.
In either case, they have all of the data they need to create an algorithm to deal with unusual spikes that may obviously be a case of someone cheating. Some of the examples we've seen in videos could be detected and dealt with automatically through a cap /cool off period or similar. There are a bunch of ways the could handle it. It's their servers and they know everything that happens on them as it happens.
What gets me is that while they said there were going to be protections in place for stuff like this there clearly weren't. At this point I think it's also obvious that it wasn't a matter of a broken mechanic that just didn't work upon release. I'll wager they just didn't address it thinking it wasn't going to be a big problem.
- Spidder814 years agoSeasoned Ace@Kean_1111 that's another thing they could do, let us progress masteries but put a cap on how many kills etc you can get per match. Still better than what is happening now. As you say still not ideal but can be a short term fix until they sort it out properly.
Still not what we paid for but at least give us something back, and add it so we can do applicable weeklies to solo/coop and custom portal (xp from these also need to count towards battlepass) and player cards.
