Agreed, vehicles are far too powerful. By taking away the regen and creating a dependency on having an engineer it would only promote teamwork while allowing enemy engineers to actually destroy lone tankers. As of right now vehicles are almost impossible to destroy unless 80% of the team is running engineer. I shot a tank 3 times in the rear with the recoilless and it drove around the corner when I ran out of rockets then came back around the corner 5 seconds later with most of it's health back. But at the end of the day expecting dice to do any common sense balancing is like expecting a 2 year old to build a rocket. It's not gonna happen and if they try it will turn out like * because they don't know what they're doing or don't care.
- ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@SarcasticAvenger Are you equating the Hind / Condor being overpowered with the rest of the vehicles that are basically made out of paper? I agree with you about the transports, I can’t agree with you about the other vehicles. The Nightbird needs a maneuverability adjustment for sure, but its strengths and weaknesses are appropriate. Attack helos seem to also be in a good balanced state. Ground vehicles are weak, and easily destroyed. By working with an Irish and maybe sitting in their base they may seem OP, but they’re not capping points or really helping their team. That is more a map issue than a vehicle issue. A statement (you didn’t say it but the next poster did) that all vehicles are OP is plainly incorrect.
And how exactly are ground vehicles weak and easily destroyed when you can only carry 3 rockets and 3 direct hits to the rear of a tank won't even destroy it? You're delusional bud.
Just give all the specialists lots of C5 and let the players sort it out.
I agree, this meta is not good, no to regen for vehicles, let players repair them. While I like to sit in a tank and rack up kills, auto regen is a terrible idea that only reinforces the cartoon nature of vehicles as a whole.

@SarcasticAvenger Totally disagreed. Once you play with the Anti-Air Tank, you will realize that aircraft are in fact, flying paper planes.
Furthermore, the maps are designed around regenerative repair, if that goes, then they need to implement repair stations such as were present in BFV.
The vehicle balance in this game needs a major rehaul.
Counntermeasures (and the fast reload time of them) + quick repair combined + the fast regen for vehicles + weak (ineffective) launchers with few rockets on each soldier is crazy. It's easystreet for vehiclehoggers.
64 player modes suffer the most from this btw.
- @SarcasticAvenger I agree in a way. Basically, this is the worst BF in terms of vehicle balance. The roles are upside down. Transport helicopters are air fortresses, the MAV is way to good as AA, the wildcat with the right settings and one hell of an infantry fighting vehicle, And the jets are basically unkillable, except by other jets, and the flight physics are like Tom & Jerry cartoons.
@S3SSioN_SoL That's all well and good but vehicle vs vehicle combat isn't the main balancing problem in the game. Vehicle vs infantry is. A single person in a tank is almost unkillable by infantry even when they don't have people repairing them. This is because of the auto repair and countermeasures that all have around a 10 second reload time. All they have to do to stay alive is spam their countermeasures and regen. Repair stations are also a terrible idea because vehicle players will end up spending most of their time at repair stations to avoid the possibility of losing their vehicle instead of actually supporting the infantry the way they're supposed to. The only real fix to this issue is removing regen, slowing down the reload of countermeasures, and placing a higher importance on the engineer role for vehicle support.

This is an exaggeration for sure. Every game I play, I destroy at least one tank with mines that I placed and forgot about. I destroy at least one vehicle with Lis' rocket or the recoilless and I help SOFLAM enemy vehicles.
They are therefore not unkillable, but if you believe you should be able to solo a tank, then you're doing it wrong. If you have C5, then yes, by all means you can solo a tank and should be able to.
Most of the time, the tanks that survive the longest, are not playing the objective, so they lose the game anyway.
