man, bless your heart, I hate that gun lol, its already impractical, it should already be charged before you fire your burst, then recharge. like how can you ever win a jump slide around the corner fight with somebody, when you are already guaranteed a 1 or so sec delay lol.......

I loved sniping in BFV, but in 2042 something has felt off from the beginning. It was the first Battlefield that I didn’t snipe much or use a marksman.
I think the Rorsch was pretty much balanced the way that it was. What other FPS game has a literal One second warm up?! That has to be against some sort of law. It’s ridiculous. I might be biased because I loved it and was able to use it pretty effectively. So doing well with Rorsch playing a very particular way gets nerfed, but the Stealth Heli and Nightbird get to roam free and just go 70-1 round after round? I’m pissed!
Before the nerf I would chip away at them, they would get annoyed and start looking for me. Now it’s not even worth it most of the time. Reduced damage and slower ROF. That’s way too big of a swing.
Another thing that deserves its own post: stop showing me xp for hitting something, I don’t care! Give me damage numbers!

Give me damage numbers!I thought the gun was very interesting, it was similar to the BSV-M in terms of how much loadout can drastically change the encounter strength of the weapon. Switching between the small 20rd auto, to burst, to single shot depending on what you're doing is neat. Making it a full second to charge is extremely long (it already felt long before).
To answer your question, the sniper in Team Fortress (at least in Team Fortress Classic from 20+ years ago, not sure about TF2, but I believe it carried over) has a red dot that you had to charge for it to be effective.
But ultimately I agree, it was useful for chipping away at choppers and tanks to stop auto-repairs. And doubly so, give me damage numbers.

i was "that guy" on hourglass. i'd go up on the buildings and by the time the mav made it to the objective from their spawn i would have taken 1/4-1/3 of it's health and made sure it couldn't hide and regen health. after that the M5 infantry took care of the rest.
if you can find a good spot to shoot from you can play a huge part in making vehicles BTFO of objectives (on breakthrough anyway, not sure about conquest)
