It seems to me to be just a way to specialize the standard classes.
Did you play Battlefield 2142?
Battlefield 2142 had 4 classes, but two different trees of specializations for each class with a variety of highly useful items.
Besides, what shooter have you played where some broken gun or perk is NOT spammed? lol!!! That's basically par for the course. Something will likely emerge, but we'll see how quickly DICE is to react to it.
- 4 years ago@ArchAngeL-PCX idk man i dont wanna see 70x of one character running around spamming a grappling hook or turret
- 4 years ago@eqoswiftzzz Same, i prefer that people look the same because of their uniforms, not because they are specific characters. Kinda ruins the whole, im just a "normal soldier in this battlefield"

yeah, I'd much rather see common uniforms than gimmicky looking specialists. The differences in classes on 3 and 4 were enough that you could tell them apart, but subtle enough to make them all look as though they belonged together. Not sure how well this is going to play out, but I much prefer the more realistic approach in regards to uniforms. Hopefull we'll get a better look before too long, and hopefully there will be options for camo patterns as they were in 4.
Still hyped though...
- 4 years ago@eqoswiftzzz Thing is they'll have counters to all this stuff in other classes. So they will have EMP devices or something else that will be good at taking out turrets.
Battlefield 2 Special Forces expansion added grappling hooks and zip lines. Grappling hooks were on the Assault class and zip lines were on the Spec Ops class as I recall. Its just a way to get up to windows or other places...nothing special that's OP or anything. It was standard class equipment.
Basically lets you do what people already do in BF4 with choppers and spawn beacons....get to higher elevations.- 4 years ago
@ArchAngeL-PCXyeah but why change the old system in bf4 that works perfectly. why do we need to have characters. why cant we just be us in a uniform like the other bf's. i dont like it and it seems im not alone but each to their own i guess. Ill have to wait and see it in more detail but i haven't got high hopes for that sort of gameplay.

You are not wrong. But in 2142 each class with specialization were called Assault, Support, Engineer, Recon with non-personal looking and unique models. In 2042 it looks like the classes are individual people with names with unique personal style models. I personally see this as the Call of duty, Apex, Rainbow six style. Not battlefield. Like I'm no longer playing my soldier as a support to engineer, but I'm switching from a girl named Maria to an old guy named Wyatt.
I've always liked battlefield because i get to play my soldier with my loadout. I'm not forced to play a specific person with a name in battlefield multiplayer other than my own.
Just get rid of these people, and change names back to what the classes used to be (assault, support, etc). Seriously all they had to say was with it being 2042 they are adding new equipment and unique specializations to the classes.

@ArchAngeL-PCX I think you're missing the point. People don't want to play a predetermined character tied to a specific gadget. That's Starwars hero. Its not what many BF vets have come to expect from this game.
Understand this! It's just a way to pilfer money from your pockets. It ruins immersion for people who want to chose to play solely as a woman or man.CM Edit: Language
