is it me, or are people more concerned with where they are on the stat board, then they are with winning the game, helping someone on their team. Forget the board doesnt tell the whole story of someones play. It is all about kills. I was just in a game where a team just sat at a doorway and farmed infantry. They could have pushed and capped the zone easily, but they wanted kill counts. We lost the game by 19. One of their comments in chat,Worst team ever. Im not saying remove stats, just the board during the game. They probably still would have farmed and epeened....... I find it ironic that such a team game has attracted so many individual players.

@Padding_Ur_Stats Fake scores on the scoreboard are lame. I miss when the scoreboard actually tracked your XP contributions overall, vs. just arbitrarily picking kills/assists/reviews/captures and weighting each one differently to come up with a score that's in no way, shape, or form actually reflective of your tracked contributions to your team.But I imagine DICE doesn't have the technology for that anymore, maybe in BF2043 or BF6 or whatever the next BF title will be they'll rediscover this lost relic of the past.

I feel most stats are ridiculous, but if other people want them why not. I'm not sure any type of stat board could ruin a game. The only stats I think that matter are those associated with capturing flag and sectors and the actions of holding, and defending them. On the other hand, I would also be interested in stupid stats like "How many times killed by your own vehicle call-in" (Hint: It's twice)

I miss when the scoreboard actually tracked your XP contributions overall, vs. just arbitrarily picking kills/assists/reviews/captures and weighting each one differently to come up with a score that's in no way, shape, or form actually reflective of your tracked contributions to your team.

@Padding_Ur_Stats I think it’s fine. It’s kills, flags captured, assist, and revives. All of those things relate to the ticket count and are important. The higher your score is means the more you have contributed to that round. Score doesn’t tell the full story, just enough of it.

The scoreboard is way better than what we had at release. The only additional feature I’d like to see is people’s pings. Other than that, it’s good.

The biggest reason why teams lose is because they don’t defend points. They give up on the points nearest to the team spawn, which allows your teams vehicles to get harassed immediately after spawning. Defend captured points and you’ll win more.

Also Crowder is gross.

Stat boards seem to affect the younger players more due to peer pressure, but less so with older players from my experience. That said, stat boards do have an impact on how the game is played, but not as much IMHO as having season pass challenges.
Season pass challenges can really screw up the online experience, as players simply attempt one single task for hours on end and don't play the objectives, etc. Dice knows this, and tries to balance challenges to get players to revive, etc...but it still is net negative for the objectives and team work in general.
The funny thing about stats is I did notice that my Boris has decent K/D but my Sundance was 3x the K/D ratio as she use to toss "nuke grenades" for muli-kills, but Boris has a pea shooting spotter thingee now.
K/D is meaningless with so many BF classes...it really is only good indicator of skill versus skill in a game like Halo where everyone starts with the same character, same guns, and it comes down to reaction time and tactics. I've had multiple 130-150 kill games in the stealth heli, and hit 205 once in a near all bot online server...which makes my K/D way higher than my actual ground based skill rating should be...is that a fair K/D indicator???
BF 2042 is too chaotic and varied for K/D to have much meaning...unless playing a smaller ground only mode like hardcore TDM/Rush...

As previously you could be best at many different roles in the game creating team work and be at the top.
Kills, heals, ammo, revives, flag caps, partial flag caps, flag defends, vehicles kills, spotting.
You name the role, you were rewarded for it in both BF1 and BFV and it worked quite well.

I have been calling for a ranked play to win area in this series for a very long time because in my opinion this is one of its largest issues.
It is frustrating trying to push to control objectives, or defend them whwn it sometimes seems like there are so few on a team that are willing to do it.
When winning the match becomes the only way to be rewarded. Then things will change. While those that do not want to experience Battlefield this way will stay out of ranked matches.

@edgecrusherO0 The board misses alot. They need to track things like, amount of healing done, not just revive. Amount of vehicle damage done, not just the killing blow or the missile prior. How many people supplied. I run out of ammo all the time. I carry a supply box but everyone uses it. No credit in game. Same with the heal box. No credit

However, the stat board focuses on kills and assists. Ironically, I could do 99 points of damage, you do 1, and you will get higher rating then me. People are waiting to attack vehicles until theyre damaged because they want the kills. It hurts game play. Assign the XP and score after youre out of the game.

@Padding_Ur_StatsI don't think it needs to track/show all those things, that's way too much information (especially with the current setup), much of which isn't super useful to your team/yourself outside of patting yourself on the back (though that goes for most stats, technically).

But the "score" that currently is your combined total of kills (x2), assists (x1), revives (x2), and flag captures (x3) is misleading. That score should instead reflect your actual XP contributions - part damage, resupplying, healing, partial flag captures or defenses that don't grant full flag capture credit, spotting (not just spot-assists), damage done to enemies, headshot bonuses etc.

It's all tracked data as it's reflected in the level progress screen at the end of matches, I guess DICE just doesn't have the technology to show it in the scoreboards, though. Just like they don't have the technology, even after 18 months of work, port over the existing scoring system that's been improved and refined over the years and was great in BFV, so we're left with them continuing to slowly rebuild the score system as a hollow skeleton of what it once was.
