The Javelins rocket needs to go higher before tracking its target

The javelins rocket path into the air before it starts tracking a vehicle is extremely to low. It only goes up into the air a few feet before seeking out the target. That's not how a javelin works. Javelin in real life can go almost 500 feet into the air before coming down onto a target. The javelin is set to direct attack mode in game which in real life the rocket still goes around 200 feet into the air. In game it looks like the rocket goes maybe 15 to 20 feet into the air. Plus it is extremely easy for a vehicle to just drive behind something to prevent the rocket from hitting. The javelin needs to go up into the air way higher before it starts tracking the target. Please adjust this Dice....

  • @ZRuff46since when has BF been anything semi-related IRL.

Javelins are IR Seekers, not LASER Guided. so since when has a SOLFAM worked on a Javelin?

if you want to go that route, the Javelin allows the operator to choose Direct Attack or Top Down Mode.

You only get top down if Dart or SOFLAM is painting the target.

even further into bringing IRL into the mix - if you put a object between you and your incoming attack, the lock would be broken and the missile just flies a straight path or goes wild. regardless of the missile type or its guidance, SARH, ARH, IR, LASER and/or SACLOS.

in-game your shots continue to pursue the target till it hits an object as if the lock is still established through a mountain or a building!

Oh, by the way - Javelins can target a helicopter as well if under 150m in altitude and traveling at less than 40 kts speeds. want to include that as well?

@AOD_CapStar362 All I'm saying is it should go higher. I'm not saying that it needs to be spot on realistic. I just thinks it's very poor in its current state. Most vehicles on the ground can easily go behind cover before it gets to them, I've seen it happen to many times from both viewpoints. Plus I believe in previous bf titles, it did go much higher than it does here. I just think it would be better for balance.
  • @ZRuff46 there are two modes with Javlin.

If you lock on your target with no assistant guiding it will go more or less a straight line.

If the target has a lock on from, Tracer dart or Soflam, The rocket will go up high in the air and then land on top of the vehicle.
