There shouldn't be scope glare and I'll tell you why

This has been a topic that I hope really reaches out not just in this game but all others.

The topic of scope glare, while I understand why developers put this mechanic in games. It really makes the sniper class or weapon and attachments less viable.

  • Scopes shouldn't have a glint unless the reflection of sunlight hits them
  • It makes being stealthy and long range engagement useless
  • Can be easily seen
  • Doesn't allow snipers to play like snipers because this
  • Scopes glints also negatively affect others weapons for long range engagement

To further elaborate on this glint mechanic shouldn't be in games unless properly incorporated such as sun light reflection or bright lights or lasers hitting the lens of the scope. However, in every game they look like a giant flash light which makes the stealthy l9ng range combat points less which defeats the purpose of snipers or even using scopes on other weapons.

The idea of using these long range scopes is to be able to engage in a safer line of battle while still being able to provide so support. But in games where there is insane bullet drop and slower velocity for snipers it makes sniping all that more useless.

For many they can argue saying that the glint helps provide some form of defense against snipers giving then the chance to evade being shot or know their position. But that complete destroys the roll of sniping or long range engagement especially since there are death cams which shows you where the enemy got you from thus giving an advantage of where they are.

Why have glint further expose the position when there so many ways to find the snipers or long range scope users. It just makes them less viable.

I really hope that game developers can stop using glint to make the games easier and unfair for stealthy players and if they do want to use the mechanic of glares I'm all for it but you must incorporate them properly and fairly.

I'm not here to bash or attack any one I'm simply just giving constructive feedback for better experience for all players.

And please if you can get the message out about scope glint please do so.

Sniper rifles can one-shot people at any distance, which is pretty powerful. And then having no downsides to that?

All other guns are highly unrealistic as well, who survives a headshot from a gun in real life? The range of the guns (non snipers) are totally unrealistic, real guns do not become 'pellet-shooters' when shooting at people from 50+ meters. Things like recoil, spread etc are unrealistic as well. Dice is even going to nerf the range of LMGs/SMGs in the next patch using spread.

One could argue that the sniper-rifles are already some of the most realistic guns in the game...

Keep it in game as it adds a required balance, but tone the brightness down. You can see a sniper scoping across the map, that's insane and defeats the purpose of a long range weapon tbh.

I hate snipers, but I actually agree that scope glare is too prevalent. It should not be instantaneous. Scope glare should occur when you're ADSing a sniper for longer than > 3 seconds or something like that; maybe reduce the brightness. As it is now, no one can ever really play an accurate role of a "sniper" because you have to constantly be standing up and strafing due to the instant scope glare giving you away.
