A ton of different game modes? You mean HZ that is barebones and about as exciting as watching a hot drink go cold, AOW that on 128 players runs like crap, the maps are abysmal and its basically a free for all without classes, then there is Portal that nobody plays, because Dice/Ripple Effect handed out the ability to make xp farms on a silver platter, who then decided to put restrictions on it. Solo/coop is useless because of xp caps and prog restrictions.
The game has been out over 2 months and nobody (not even the devs) seems to know what is going on or will be happening to this game as it stands.
The "new approach" obviously has failed, because they went so far away from what makes battlefield battlefield, that this game is as about as battlefield as a skunk is a fish.
Dont get me wrong Im glad you enjoy it, but unfortunately the majority didnt want this to be as it is. Custom Portal is this games only saving grace, but ONLY if they take off all restrictions and have persistent servers. Also have some sort of verification system for the servers to stop xp farms getting through. If its not verified then xp and prog is restricted. Then they need to add a ton of previous BF maps, modes weapons, vehicles etc for it to become even viable. Even with F2P people wont touch Portal unless these changes are made.
As for DLC, there is no news on DLC, hell we dont even know when Season 1 starts, and its now highly likely they wont do a year 2 pass and abandon it after year 1, and we will only get year one as obligatory because they already sold it to us. The above mentioned is only the tip of the iceberg with the issues this game has, with the plethora of bugs and missing features and whatnot, the game is in an absolute mess.
I myself hate COD and have always loved BF, but 2042 is too far astray to what makes a Battlefield game, and now my only proper FPS shooter is way too drunk and needs to go home, evaluate its life choices and come back a changed and better BF.
There is a game I have been seeing called Battle Bit and that is way more BF than 2042 will ever be in every way possible. You can even drag injured teammates to safety before reviving!!!!
We are not here because we hate it, we are here because we are sorely disappointed in what is happening to our beloved franchise.
I understand there are tons of problems on custom built PCs with all the different components but it runs great on PlayStation 4.
I think the looks of characters and playing for XP are overrated. It’s just cosmetics. I personally play the game for the bullet drop and the fights i anticipate running around corners. I also like to do some sniping and the vehicle play as well. Battlefield has always been a combination of these things. I played some other modes in Portal the other day with no vehicles and it felt empty. If you’re only just running around and gunning no explosions and helicopters above your head it’s just pathetic. I like that the maps are huge and I have to call in a vehicle. The only thing I really really miss is VOIP. I could tell my squad mate in a helicopter to pick me up then I jump in and we have a great time together fighting in the helicopter etc. that is what battlefield is about for me and this game is very close to give me that full experience. The abilities of the specialists are very interesting as well. Looks like kids are whining about the looks of the characters which is very childish to me but I see it is is very important to some people here. I don’t understand why but I accept it and respect it. The looks of the characters won’t change the game experience for me. Hopefully they add back the voice communication and scoreboard that people are so dearly missing as well but again I don’t care much about that either. I want to have a great time together with other people playing. Otherwise this is a great game to me. I like it that it’s different from other battlefield games. And as the poster said in the beginning it certainly is different from call of duty etc. i rather play this than the competition. Hope it gets better.Angry people are passionate people.

@UP_Hawxxeye Passionate and voicing dismay in a constructive way is one thing. Hate, trashing the devs and making threats to the devs is another. There has been plenty of constructive and hate filled comments made. But I do agree that the only way to get things fixed is to bring up those issues and hopefully EA/Dice listens and acts accordingly.

I also think that this game is fun. It has a lot to be added/fixex, like I wrote in previous thread. But even with bad specialist/no squads changing etc., its much better game than COD i think.
Now it runs good on my PC, stable 80 fps, with occasional stutter when ADS.
I have i5 12600k cpu, with old gpu radeon rx 580 4 gb vram. I could also play it on my old cpu i5 6500 which is below minimal reqirements. This game has better optimisation than warzone after last few updates, and runs with higher FPS than HALO infinite which on my PC has below 60 fps, but streamers and players love it althougj it has worse graphics and worse optimisation. I think there is to much hate.
And it's not all about the content. BfV and Bf1 dont have new content, but lots of people play it. I think the worse thing is we dont have k/d scoreboard and profile stats and apk for stats cause people dont see where they are bad and what to improve. People love when they improve gameplay, but we cant track stats in any way. Thats the worse.

The game does not look like crap or play like crap. Most of the People that don’t like it don’t like it because it’s not the typical BF game. But the funny thing is that All past BF games have been different.
You make valid points but two months isn’t a long time specially with the holidays and all the other crap I mentioned earlier. Many games have had horrible launches but have recovered. Take for instance these titles. Fallout 76, BF4, Destiny
Dark souls, Counterstrike and the list goes on. All bounced back. Have faith my friend. The game might be drunk now but I’m sure it will sober up in the morning . 🤒
