Turns Out Voicing Works

Good Job for those who stuck to voicing dissent against EA's hero shooter chase with BF2042 regardless of getting crapped on for it. Your voices make a difference. If you are unhappy with how they have completely screwed this up, continue to voice your opinion. For those who are enjoying BF2042 for what it is, please continue to do so as this is an entertainment medium, but for those who want battlefield to be what it once was, continue that fight. Turns out EA listens to the money, and they are starting to think they can get more by actually making a BF game instead of chasing trends.

@-DFA-Thump why would they even need a second hero shooter anyway when they have Apex? It makes more sense to cover difference niches than to compete against their own brands

I'll save any judgement until I actually play the next game.
It's way too early to start talking about how EA has learned their lesson.

@-DFA-Thump also helps a lot that the lead guy has changed, more open to making the game a battlefield game rather than a battle royale game.

@RayD_O1 There is no way I will ever pre-order another game and I will wait until the game has been out to hear the feedback before I purchase it.

Sounds like specialists will be categorized into classes and have weapon restrictions. So Falck would obviously go into the medic class and probably not be able to equip rocket launchers anymore.
I think it's a step in the right direction for encouraging more team play. I say this as someone who was originally happy about the idea of being able to equip any weapon on my character. But after experiencing it in 2042, it feels like the gameplay experience got hollowed out without classes.

@UP_Hawxxeyeexactly, it doesn't make sense. Unless you're a money hungry company trying to have multiple irons in the fire attempting to milk that cow from all angles.
